Unit-5

Lesson-7

The Truthful Dove-3

HW:

I think that the title is appropriate for

the story “The Truthful dove”

Once there were two friends a dove and a bat. They desired to make a travel and one day they started to fly. When they felt tired after flying over rivers and heels, they came to a big jungle to take a rest. As night fail and it started to rain with storm they looked for a shelter. They went to a hundred year old rain tree where an owl lived and they got shelter there in spite of the owl's unwillingness.

Listening to her friend, bats false and insincere praising words for the owl, the dove was astonished and kept quiet and down her head. She also was ashamed of her friend when he also gave her pressure to praise the owl he dove only expressed her gratitude to the owl for giving her shelter and food.

The heartless bat and the owl being dissatisfied drove the dove out in to dark but the dove was not afraid of it. It flew away. Finally the bat and the owl got punishment. The bat is now unable to fly and the owl is unable to hurt and eat by day. On the other hand the dove got reward. By the poet its name shall be used with love for ever.

Reading the story, it is understood that the dove is really truthful. So it can be said that the title has been successful.

Unit-7

Lesson-4

River Gypsies in

Bangladesh (2)

HW:

           Education for Gypsy Children

Since the Gypsy children are born and brought up in the boot, they cannot adapt with the mainstream people. As a result, the whole community is lagging behind the mainstream of the nation. As the river gypsies are lossing their traditional profession and becoming jobless, it is high time to think for them. The government has taken steps to educate their children. But the gypsy children cannot go to conventional schools because they are born and grown up in roaming boats. They cannot take education as the main stream children take it. So, some voluntary organisation are running special school for gypsy children in boats. In our area there is a boat school for those children. A volunteer organisation runs the school. I feel for the children. I behave well with the gypsies children. I have greater sympathy for them. I can not do much for them because I am a student. But sometimes I go there to talk to them.I inspire their parents to send their kids to the boat school. Sometimes I teach the children. On some occasions, I along with my classmates take some biscuits for the children. In the beginning of the year, I gave them some books. This is how, I try my best to help them in all possible ways.
